City Owned Site Likely To Become Hotel Soon

Within the next three to six months, the city will be looking for proposals to developed the land across from the Raleigh Convention Center. The vacant Salisbury Street site formerly known as The Lafayette has already received one presentation from local developer Summit Hospitality Group. Since it is widely known that the convention center has been losing business for a lack of rooms nearby, an estimated 500-700 room shortage, other parties are also submitting letters of intent.
