West Street Extension Study Underway

The Raleigh City Council has selected Michael Baker Engineering Inc. of Cary to conduct an environmental study for the proposed West Street extension project. The proposal looks to extend West Street in Downtown Raleigh south through a tunnel to South Saunders Street as part of the planned Union Station project. In addition, the High Speed Rail (HSR) / Capital Boulevard projects would benefit from the extension on the north side to Fairview Road.
